Government Shutdown Assistance

Our community means everything to us and we’re committed to assisting our customers under every circumstance. That’s why we want to do our part to help those who are experiencing the financial impact of being furloughed during the current U.S. government shutdown.

We’re offering eligible customers the following financial assistance:

Personal Banking Customers

SupportRequirements
Reimbursement of overdraft fees on checking accounts from the beginning of the shutdown on 10/1/25 through the end of the shutdown.  Provide a dated letter of proof from the U.S. government that shows you are either furloughed or received guidance as to being without pay.
Government Shutdown Pay Advance Program: Eligible customers may receive up to three separate pay advances ranging from $250 to $5,500, with repayment beginning once government pay resumes. These advances carry no fees and 0.00% APR*.You must be employed by the U.S. government and have had your pay direct deposited into your Martinsville First account for at least 30 days prior to October 1, 2025.

Dated letter of proof from the U.S. government that shows you are either furloughed or received guidance as to being without pay.

Lending Customers

SupportRequirements
Forbearance on loans and lines of credit. That means monthly payments will be temporarily suspended until the end of the arranged period, at which time payments will need to be repaid, with the possibility of setting up payment options.Please provide:

Dated letter of proof from the U.S. government that shows you are either furloughed or received guidance as to being without pay.

Two Pay Stubs.
Reimbursement of incurred late loan and line of credit payment fees from the beginning of the shutdown on 10/1/25 through the end of the shutdown.
